Redwave Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 8, 2026 · App: Redwave (package com.redwave.downloader) · Developer: STAR ADS LLC
1. What Redwave does
Redwave downloads audio files from direct links you provide, offers a free Creative Commons music catalog and podcast feeds, plays your music with an equalizer, cuts ringtones, and can work as your Home screen (launcher).
2. Information we do not collect
- No account, name, email address or phone number.
- No contacts, location, photos, microphone or camera data.
- No analytics SDK in the app.
3. Information processed only on your device
- Links and clipboard. When you tap Paste, or when you open Redwave or return to its Home screen, Redwave reads the clipboard to detect an audio link and offer a download. The clipboard is checked on your device only. It is never stored on our servers or sent to us.
- Your music. Downloaded files are saved to
Music/Redwaveon your device. Your library, favorites, equalizer and other settings are stored in the app’s private storage. - Audio files access (optional). If you tap “Find” in Library, Redwave asks for permission to read audio files so it can show and delete files left from an earlier install. You can decline; everything else keeps working.
- App list (Home screen mode). To show your apps, the Redwave launcher reads the list of installed apps and their icons on your device. This list is not sent anywhere.
4. Network connections
- Downloads. When you download a link, your phone connects directly to the server that hosts that file. That server receives your IP address and device request headers, as with any download, under its own policy.
- Catalog and podcasts. The free catalog, cover images and podcast feeds are loaded from the hosts that publish them.
- Firebase Remote Config (Google). Redwave receives its settings, such as which features are switched on, from Google Firebase Remote Config. To do this, Firebase uses a Firebase installation ID and basic technical data (app version, device language, country derived from the IP address). See Firebase privacy and security and Google’s Privacy Policy.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Redwave is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: a full-screen ad when you open or return to the app, and occasionally a full-screen ad after you download tracks. Ads are not shown more often than every few minutes.
- What AdMob uses. To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device’s advertising ID, IP address (from which an approximate location is derived), device and app information (such as model, OS version and language), and how you interact with ads (views and taps). Google processes this data under its own policies.
- Personalized ads. Ads may be personalized based on your advertising ID. To opt out, open Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) and choose “Delete advertising ID” or “Opt out of Ads Personalization”. You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant.
- Learn more. How Google uses information from apps that use its services and How Google uses advertising data.
We, STAR ADS LLC, do not receive your advertising ID or any personal information from AdMob; we only see aggregated ad reports.
6. Home screen (launcher) role
Redwave can be set as your Home screen. You choose this in an Android system dialog, and you can turn it off at any time in Redwave → Settings → “Use as Home screen”, or in Android Settings → Apps → Default apps → Home app.
To uninstall Redwave, use Android Settings → Apps → Redwave → Uninstall. Depending on the version of the app, you can also long-press an app icon on the Redwave Home screen and choose Uninstall.
7. System permissions
- Modify system settings — only when you choose to set a cut track as your default ringtone, alarm or notification sound. You grant it on a separate Android screen and can revoke it there.
- Request delete packages — only to open Android’s own uninstall dialog when you choose Uninstall on the Redwave Home screen. Android always asks you to confirm.
- Advertising ID — lets Google AdMob read the device’s advertising ID to show ads (see section 5).
- Internet, network state, foreground playback service, vibration — to download, check connectivity, keep music playing with the screen off, and give tap feedback.
8. Children
Redwave is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads in Redwave are not designed for children.
9. Data retention and deletion
Because your data stays on your device, you control it. Delete tracks in Library (the file is removed from Music/Redwave), or uninstall Redwave to remove its private storage. Firebase Remote Config and AdMob data are handled by Google as described in its policies; you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings at any time.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s store listing.
